Wausau High School was first established in 1881 and was originally located in a two-story building on the corner of 3rd and McClellan Streets. In 1901, the school moved to a new building on Grand Avenue. In 1939, the school was located on the corner of 7th and Franklin Streets.During the time of Wausau High School 1939, the school was known for its strong academic program and extracurricular activities.
